Back Pain Facts

Approximately 75% of all adults fall victim to back pain at some point in their lives. The condition varies widely between acute pain caused by injury and chronic pain which can last for many years. Although the vast majority of people try to continue working, the additional damage they do can sometimes be irrepairable.

These days, there is much talk about RSI (repetitive strain injury) related to use of computers, but one of the major contributory factors for back pain is repetitive actions, which include:

spine

  • Repetitive or heavy lifting when at work or home
  • Bending or twisting the trunk without considering the consquences
  • Exerting too much force upon the back muscles when lifting or playing sport
  • High employer expectancy at work coupled with a lack of Health and Safety control
  • Ignoring early symptoms of back discomfort or injury
  • Failure to take remedial action to improve back condition

In the last year alone, over 400,000 people in the UK suffered from a bad back and this resulted in over 5 million working days being lost. An additional 4.5 million people regularly attend their GP surgery about back pain and these sufferers were absent from their jobs for around four working weeks annually.

The cost of this to the country runs into billions of pounds. The cost to the NHS is in excess of £200 million, with over £150 million of that being spent on physiotherapy.

12.5% of all unemployed people in the UK cite back pain as the reason they cannot get suitable employment and the Governments lists over 1 million people as suffering long-term disablement due to back pain.

The frustrating thing is that if only people were trained more effectively, the debilitating effects of back pain could be much reduced in the workplace and at home.

Use of the X4000 can significantly reduce back pain. If you would like to find out more then click here.

"Please accept my sincere thanks for selling me my X4000. My wife has suffered very badly for a long time with sciatica. Since using the X4000 there has been a remarkable improvement and she is now able to go walking again! Thank you once again."
